Mitzie Hunter


Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough Guildwood

Mitzie Hunter has served as the MPP for Scarborough- Guildwood since September 2013 and is the Ontario Liberal Party critic for Finance, Treasury Board, Energy, and Democratic Renewal and Electoral Reform.
 
In addition to her constituency responsibilities, Mitzie has also served in various cabinet posts including Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development (2018), Minister of Education (2016-2018), and Associate Minister of Finance, responsible for pension reform (2014-2016). 
 
Mitzie Hunter understands community and the power of collaboration. As a lifelong city builder, she is passionate about ensuring fair and inclusive access to employment and prosperity and she believes in the power of working with community leaders to take action on challenges that affect Ontarians.
 
As former CEO of the Greater Toronto Civic Action Alliance, Mitzie worked to resolve a number of the most challenging social, economic, and environmental issues in the Greater Toronto Area. Previously, she was the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation, Vice-President at Goodwill Industries, and Regional Director at Bell Canada.  
 
Mitzie grew up in Scarborough, graduated from the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus with a BA, and completed her MBA at the Rotman School of Management.
