Manager, Generation and Emerging Sectors Power Advisory LLC
Sarah Simmons is Manager of Generation and Emerging Sectors at Power Advisory LLC. She has more than 13 years of professional experience in the electricity sector and has worked with large-scale and distributed generators, electricity distributors and transmitters, system operators, industrial load customers, and emerging technology providers. While at Power Advisory, Sarah has led the development of innovative studies and reports, including Independent Electricity System Operator’s Innovation Roadmap and Workplan, Electricity Distributor Association’s Power to Connect Roadmap to a Brighter Ontario , and the OEA’s Discussion Paper on Load Serving Entities in Ontario.
Sarah began her career as core member of the team that developed and launched of the FIT and microFIT programs in 2009 at the Ontario Power Authority. Prior to joining Power Advisory in 2017, Sarah was a member of the Energy and Environment Practice at Sussex Strategy Group, and Government Affairs Manager for SunEdison Canada. Sarah has a Master’s Degree of Environmental Studies focusing on electricity pricing policy from the University of Waterloo. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, majoring in environmental monitoring and analysis.
