Director, Energy Conservation Strategy, Union Gas
Sue Flaman has been working on environmental and energy sustainability issues for much of her 25-plus-year career. In her current role as Director, Energy Conservation Strategy for Union Gas, Sue leads the company’s Demand Side Management (DSM) team. DSM delivers energy conservation initiatives across Ontario, supporting GHG emissions reductions and saving energy and costs for a broad range of Union Gas customers. Sue is also responsible for directing Union Gas’ compliance with provincial and federal carbon regulations. Before taking on her current role, Sue was the Director of Environment, Health & Safety at Union Gas, where she oversaw the company’s emissions reporting. A certified Environmental Professional, Sue also held the role of Director, Sustainability in the Houston offices of Union Gas’ parent company, as well Director, Public Affairs for the company’s western Canadian operations.
Sue holds a Master in Environment and Business, is a registered professional planner in Ontario and a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. Before joining Union Gas, Sue worked in municipal land development and stakeholder relations in Ontario and B.C.
