OEA committees and working groups bring members together throughout the year to explore key energy sector issues and help shape policy recommendations for the Ontario government and regulators.
Participation is open to all members and provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of Ontario’s energy policies through collaboration and innovation.
New committees or working groups may be formed as emerging topics arise.
ENERGY STRATEGY COMMITTEE
The Energy Strategy Committee provides a forum for members to discuss and shape high-level, forward-looking issues affecting Ontario’s energy sector. The committee focuses on issues such as affordability, system planning, climate objectives, innovation, and emerging policy trends, complementing regulatory discussions without duplicating them. Its role is to support strategic alignment, share insights, and inform OEA advocacy and engagement priorities.
EVENTS COMMITTEE
Advise the OEA on event ideas and programming, including the Energy Conference, Speaker Series, Conversations That Matter, and other initiatives that may be of interest to members.
REGULATORY COMMITTEE
Participate in reviewing and shaping the regulatory landscape for Ontario’s electricity and gas sectors by identifying key issues, analyzing regulatory decisions and proceedings, and helping develop the OEA’s public policy and advocacy positions.
SPECIAL PURPOSE COMMITTEES
The OEA occasionally forms special purpose committees to develop policies on emerging or issue-specific topics.
