László Varsányi serves as the SVP, Commercial & Regulatory Services for Enbridge Gas, North America’s largest utility. He oversees U.S. and Canadian teams responsible for Customer Care of Enbridge’s 7.2 million natural gas utility customers, Strategy, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Commercial Services, Storage & Transmission, and Regulatory Services.
Over his three decades in the energy industry, László has been a driving force behind much of the growth of Enbridge’s Liquids Pipeline business unit, the Renewable Power Generation business unit, and most recently in doubling the customer count at Enbridge Gas through obtaining approvals for the acquisitions of utilities in North Carolina, Ohio, and Utah/Wyoming/Iowa.
Before joining Enbridge, László worked with the Alberta Department of Energy, analyzing market fundamentals impacting pricing, supply, and demand.
László holds a BA Honours (Economics) from the University of Calgary, an MA (Economics) from Queen’s University, Kingston, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
László serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Energy Association, and Oakville Enterprises Corporation. He previously chaired the governance committee of Immigrant Services Calgary, a prominent newcomer settlement agency, and is the Executive Sponsor of Enbridge Gas’ United Way campaign.
